South Slope of the Acropolis – Proposal for the arrangement of the archaeological site

Degree Project
School of Architecture NTUA
2002

The project’s aim is to underline the historical significance of the site as well as the changes that took place over the centuries. This is realized through an attempt to re-introduce the urban fabric of the Hellenistic period, when the area was at its peak with minimal interventions. These are a series of metal sheets bolted on the ground (indicating missing walls) and a series of metal columns (indicating varying ground levels). Moreover, sitting areas are introduced based on an analysis on clear views and “contained” spaces.
