Proposal for the Greek Pavilion, Biennale Architettura 2023

Design Team: C. Bouras, I. Barkouta, K. Michalopoulou, O. Venetsianou, D. Agathopoulos

The “weavings” project configures spaces formed by threads with reference to the loom. The threads also define the projection frame of a participatory project that deals with the creation of the Greek city based on an input of images provided by residents. This participatory process is what the study group defines as the “workshop of the future”, the thematic set by the main curatorial line of this year’s event.

The project tied for third place in the evaluation for the commissioning of the curation of the Greek pavilion at the 18th Venice Architecture Biennale.

South Slope of the Acropolis – Proposal for the arrangement of the archaeological site

Degree Project
School of Architecture NTUA
2002

The project’s aim is to underline the historical significance of the site as well as the changes that took place over the centuries. This is realized through an attempt to re-introduce the urban fabric of the Hellenistic period, when the area was at its peak with minimal interventions. These are a series of metal sheets bolted on the ground (indicating missing walls) and a series of metal columns (indicating varying ground levels). Moreover, sitting areas are introduced based on an analysis on clear views and “contained” spaces.
